Leon Springs Volunteer Fire Department Receives Charitable Contribution From Community Organizations

LEON SPRINGS, TEXAS, JUNE 17, 2010 – Leon Springs Business Association and Rotary Club of San Antonio at The Dominion presented a check today to Leon Springs Volunteer Fire Department in the amount of $3,360.00. Leon Springs Volunteer Fire Department provides emergency services, including fire suppression, rescue, and on-scene medical care, in the burgeoning northwest Bexar County and surrounding areas.
Leon Springs Business Association (LSBA) selected Leon Springs Volunteer Fire Department as beneficiary of proceeds raised at its May Mixer and Fundraiser Event (www.leonspringstx.com/pastevents.asp) held May 13, 2010, at Preferred Landscape and Lighting Design Center (www.preferredlandscapetx.com), located on IH-10 W between Leon Springs and Fair Oaks. Contributing sponsors assisting with the fundraising included Broken Stone Pizza (Boerne), Freetail Brewing (San Antonio), An Empty Vase Florist (Fair Oaks), and Broadway Bank. LSBA regularly hosts events such as speaker luncheons and networking mixers at various locations in Leon Springs, Texas.
Rotary Club of San Antonio at The Dominion (Dominion Rotary) jointly provided the contribution to Leon Springs Volunteer Fire Department. Each year, Dominion Rotary donates funds to local charitable organizations. This particular contribution will aid in the acquisition of apparatus and assist with the Fire Department’s mission of protecting life and property.
A spokesman from LSBA and Dominion Rotary commented, “Both organizations decided that our support of Leon Springs Volunteer Fire Department would be one of the best ways to contribute to our community. The Fire Department serves our community, working with a minimal operating budget. Their need for capital to purchase items such as facilities and apparatus is increasing. We hope to provide ongoing support to our community in this way, and we greatly appreciate the efforts of volunteer Fire Department personnel.”
